Mac is sitting in the front seat of his car. He looks frustrated and determined. Fade black.
Mary is having drinks with her friend Tiffany
Shahrzy (Tiffany): Just make sure you’re careful. Uber and Lyft are rising in popularity these days.
Christine (Mary): Yeah right, that’ll happen the day my husband goes crazy.
Laughs
Christine: Ow! My head really hurts.
Shahrzy: Maybe you should go to bed. I can stay if you want.
Christine: Yeah, you can sleep on the couch here.
Shahrzy: Okay feel better.
Christine: Thanks.
Both go to sleep. Christine walks out with phone flashlight on. Shahrzy wakes up after Christine knocks stuff over
Shahrzy: Mary, what are you doing?
Christine: It won’t come out! The spot, it won’t come out! No matter how many times I wash it, it won’t come out.
Shahrzy: What are you talking about?
Christine: He was a cab driver in the biggest city, yet he was still afraid. What is there to fear when no one can blame us? But who would’ve known he was capable of such malice, capable of such a deed? The blood is an old friend that won’t stop coming back for me. I once greeted it, however hesitantly, but now I feel as though I cannot leave this misdeed behind me. What, will these hands never be clean? I can still smell the blood on my hands. All the perfumes of Sephora could not sweeten the smell of blood on my little hand! But what’s done is done, what’s done is done…
Mary returns to her room while Tiff sits in confusion. Scene dims and next one opens.
Mac is sitting on the couch when a young woman walks from his and his wife’s room.
Doctor/Woman: I’m sorry sir, there was nothing I could do.. She’s too far gone.
Mac: It’s fine just leave me please.
The woman rushes out
Mac: T'was bound to happen, her time would have come anyway. Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow. These days drone on despite the events that occur within them, bringing us closer to our death one day at a time. Out, out, brief candle. Life is like an illusion, providing false hope and tearing it away. Life is a story told by an idiot, full of noise and disturbance but without any true meaning.
Phone dings
MESSENGER: THE TAXIS HAVE TURNED GREY AS THE ASHES IN MY FIREPLACE
Mac looks at phone in disbelief
Mac: When those hags told me the taxis would turn grey, I thought I had nothing to fear, until now. But I won’t go down without a fight! This is my company, it’s my right and no one can take it from me.
Grabs keys and walks out. Macbeth runs outside to find Donny Giovanni waiting for him.
Donny: Get ready to run this fade.
Mac: Alas, this is one of the only two things worse than it raining cats and dogs?
Donny (confused): What’s the other?
Mac: Hailing taxi cabs!
(ba dum tss)
Donny: I’m done talking to you, let’s fight.
Mac: This fight means nothing for I will not lose my company until taxis become cheap.
Donny: Have you seen uber prices?
Mac looks at phone and gasps in surprise
Mac: That cheap? It costs fifteen dollars to get across town?
Donny: You could ride across the state of California for the amount it would take you to go two blocks in a taxi.
Mac: Unbelievable, my time has come, but I’m not going down without a-
Donny punches Mac in the face ON LOOP. Donny pulls out phone and rings up Malcolm/Claire
Donny: The deed is done, Mac is no longer a concern of ours.
Malcolm: Finally, that pest is taken care of. Now we can move forward and begin the final merger with Uber/Lyft. Thank you for all your assistance Donny. This plan would not have been possible without you. And as a repayment for your services, I want to make you a lead advisor for the new company.
Donny: I would be honored to help you in this new business venture.
Malcolm: Great. I’ll see you tomorrow.
Both parties hang up, smugly. Fade to black.
